RijksmuseumTop – Exhibition ‘Contact’

Event hosted by the Rijksmuseum and KPN (main sponsor) for the top of The Netherlands with the theme ‘Contact’. Ben was invited to exhibit six portraits of people helped by ‘Mooiste Contact Fonds’, a foundation that uses technology to (re)connect people that in some way are tempered by loneliness.

The six portraits embody six of the many initiatives of the foundation set up during their 10 years of existence. Telling the story of people who are helped by being reconnected with the world.

Sem – Seriously ill for a longer period of time. But is able to follow her classes in school online with ‘Klassecontact’.

Lies – Mentally challenged, but able to acces the internet on her tablet through guidance software.

Tom – Autistic and connected to foundation ‘Papageno‘. Connects, communicates and learns through music.

Erik – Is once in a while treated to a special day out to (for example) the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam.

Annet – Of older age. Is contacted once a week just for a little chat, which helps her out of social isolation.

Janou – Heart patient. Is connected with children who also have a heart condition via a mobile application on which they can exchange stories and experiences about their life.
